Barefoot Wine & Bubbly Pours Half a Million Glasses of Wine for Charity

You may have seen the Barefoot Wine & Bubbly brand of wine at your local liquor store, but next time you come across it, think about this: Barefoot Wine & Bubbly is on a mission to pour half a million glasses of wine for charity.

And what exactly does this involve?

Barefoot Wine & Bubbly partners up with charities across the nation and pouring wine at fundraising events, which is the core of their unique marketing approach. Instead of advertising like most brands do, the California company is able to successfully promote its brand at more then 650 charity events in Canada and give back to the community at the same time, something they think is just as important as making great wine. I was fortunate to be amongst media and influencers at the #Pedi4cause charity reception last Wednesday at the Boathouse Restaurant by English Bay, hosted by Urban Rush’s own Fiona Forbes. To kick off its mission to pour 500,000 glasses of wine for charities across Canada in 2012, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly showed its support for Beauty Night Society.

The local charity is located in the Vancouver downtown east side and is dedicated to building the self-esteem of women and youth living in poverty through wellness, makeovers and life skill development. Barefoot Wine & Bubbly displayed its grassroots marketing approach by donating to Beauty Night Society everytime a guest at the event tweeted and attached the hashtag #pedi4cause. As the hashtag describes, there were pedicures being offered at the event for those who wanted to kick back, relax and give their toes a bit of pampering. One of the items in the swag bag were bright turquoise flip flops that were worn by many ladies who got their toe nails buffed and painted. What’s even more fun was that there were purple leis being handed out to keep us all in a tropical mood so even though it was pouring outside, it still felt like summer!

Keeping in line with their generosity and to help Vancouverites start the summer season off on the right “foot”, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly provided the delicious tapas that paired so well with their most popular wine styles for the summer as well as signature wine cocktails. There was lots of laughter, chatter, and to prove that it was such a great time, there was even a broken wine glass or two (always a sure indication of a good time)!

Something that surely everyone is able to appreciate is that bottles of Barefoot Wine & Bubbly range from approximately $10- $14! And there’s sure to be a wine for everyone, even those who prefer sparkling champagnes and wines. Here are just some of the wines offered by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and apparently the summers hottest wine, Moscato.

So as I mentioned earlier, the next time you’re at the liquor store deciding what wine to purchase from the endless selection that is available out there, consider Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, not only because they are the most awarded California wine and one of the most popular brands in North America, but because they exist not only to produce and sell wine; they create initiatives that support cultural/charity events and by doing so, they truly are making the world a better place.

    1. Your welcome! :p Yes, be sure to get in touch with Barefoot to see what kind of sponsorship opportunities exist! Also contact Beauty Night, it’d be great to see Dixon partner up with that organization 🙂
