One Denim Jacket, So Many Different Looks

Casual and simple
The simplest way to wear your denim jacket is with a t-shirt and—because denim suits are not too fashionable these days—tights, shorts, a skirt or any sort of pant that isn’t denim material. If you have a cropped denim jacket, try wearing it with a high waist, just like you might for a cropped blazer, to create the appearance of longer legs. You could also wear an oversized shirt with your cropped denim jacket which is perfect for that laid back and effortless look.

Bohemian Chic
With the exception of ball gowns or formal dresses, denim jackets pair very well with any dress. Particularly, when you wear a maxi dress or a summer dress with your denim jacket and pair it with the right accessories, you create a stylish bohemian look that no other jacket or cardigan or blazer can. It’s bohemian yet can be described as trendy or even sophisticated, depending on the accessories you wear with the outfit (thick wooden accessories, golden accessories).

Playful yet polished
I had a floral tube dress from Forever 21 that I just wore a few weeks ago (you know, when the bright yellow thing that gives off warmth in the sky was out…!) and wearing it with just a plain cardigan was too…plain for me. Cowgirl
The denim jacket was originally worn by cowboys, so it can definitely create that type of look. But don’t worry—for those of us who won’t be joining the rodeo anytime soon, that cowgirl look can still be achieved. Just pair it with a white croquet or lace dress, belt, and a pair of cowboy boots.

So for those of you who think a denim jacket isn’t versatile, think again, especially now that summer is just a day away! A denim jacket is light enough to wear on a hot day on top of your dress or tank, and doesn’t add additional weight as it isn’t a bulky item. And as always, my #1 advice to everyone is experiment. Mix and match with whatever you have in your closet to see what styles work with your denim jacket. You’d be surprised with what funky and eclectic combinations work. These days, no mater what you wear,  just rock it with confidence and you will look amazing. Good luck!
