My vision ain’t 20/20, but I have a pretty good eye for buying things on sale.
Over the weekend, I managed to find not 1, 2, 3, 4, but 5 items at $20 a piece from the infamous winter sale at Zara! Well, one of them was not on sale, but it still fits in the “I bought this for $20 only” category…Oh, and there are two items below that weren’t $20..The point is, most of the items I bought at Zara were $20. 5 out of 7 is good enough for me!
I didn’t particularly buy outfits so much as I was buying individual pieces that were work appropriate and that I could see matching with other items already in my sale-infested wardrobe. But for the purpose of this post, I created outfits from everything I bought at Zara to show how great (and versatile!) my $20 finds are…along with my other two items that weren’t $20..

1. Zara striped blue and white 3/4 sleeve top- $20
This was the only item I bought from Zara that wasn’t on sale. But it’s such a staple piece that would look great with trousers, slacks, colored denim, a colored cardigan, or what I’m wearing it with, a boyfriend blazer. It’s versatile enough so that you can wear it casually or dress it up for work. Nautical is in right now (In my opinion), so you can’t go wrong with navy blue, white, red, or black stripes. Just not all on one shirt.
2. Zara black trousers- $20 FROM $60!
What a steal. These black trousers were marked down to $20 from $60! What’s even more unbelievable was that I managed to find a pair in my size! I must admit, however, that I have to bring these trousers into a tailor to reinforce the zipper, as it was loose when I bought the pants. But that will probably cost around $5-$7, so that’s still a major bargain. I knew I couldn’t pass these trousers up, because they are in my eyes, the perfect work pant, being both stylish and comfortable. Win win! I also don’t own any grey dressy pants, so I wanted to throw this in the mix.

3. Zara purple wide-sleeved tee- $20 from $46
I love the color, I love the shape, I love the material…AND I love the price. So it was a no-brainer that I bought this top! In these photos, I didn’t wear any accessories, but with such a wide v-neck and vibrant solid color, it would look great if a necklace or bracelets or a watch was added to the outfit, or even a skinny belt? (Although I probably wouldn’t ever wear it with one)
4. Zara grey trousers- $20 FROM $60! Again!
Yes, I bought two of the same trouser in different color. Don’t act like that’s not normal…lol.
But again, I can re-purpose these trousers among so many different outfits that I really see these pants as being as investment piece. These trousers had the zipper problem too, so I’m going to have to reinforce it, but fortunately it’s a small issue that doesn’t prevent me from being able to wear them.

5. Zara beige sleeveless top- $20 from $50
This lace-lined polyester top caught my eye because it reminded me of ”Do I look like a doily?” (Shit Girls Say pt.1)… haha I’m joking. It had a 60′s feel to it with a modern twist. This outfit is probably my favourite, because the trousers and purple/maroon shoes complement the sophisticated and chic look. I just need a watch to complete the look!
6. Zara striped trousers- $30 from $60
Ok, so I lied. This post isn’t all about$20 items. These pants may not be a $20 find, but they were 50% off the original price. And damn do I love them. I think I mentioned this before, but I have an obsession with skinny trousers at the moment. I really think it’s got a lot to do with the way they make my skinny chicken legs look not too skinny and because I wear a lot of flats or oxford shoes that match so very well with them.

7. Zara down jacket- $80 from $160
Yes, another one that wasn’t $20. But come on the majority of my items were. This jacket is another exception to my $20 finds from Zara. But at $80 from $160, it’s as sexy as a $20 find because it’s a down jacket made with real feathers. I’ve already worn it outside in this snowy weather we’ve been having with just a t-shirt underneath, and I was not cold at all! And trust me, I have the lowest tolerance for cold. Plus, the material does not pick up any dog fur–which Elroy constantly sheds–so that was another selling point for me.

So there you have it. 5/7 items purchased for $20 each. I must admit, it is exhausting to bargain hunt (especially for a haul this large), so if you ever plan on it, be sure to clear your day and end with drinking something warm and calming (It’s seriously really tiring). Just remember: When you see something regular priced, chances are, it will eventually go on sale. That was certainly the case with the items I bought from Zara. Can’t wait? Then shop around for something that looks similar/is an imitation of it that is cheaper
(Yes that’s how I roll!) There are always sales going on, you just have to switch on your 20/20 vision to help you search for that bargain! Now go and take advantage of the after-Christmas sales before they’re over! I think the Zara sale is still going on for at least a couple more weeks.
