A Late Haul From Christmas

Sure, the lights, decorations, Christmas trees and even tunes during the holiday are all essential to create the magical time of year that is Christmas, but there is something that is as equally as AWESOME (yes I’m using one of the words that is supposed to be banned in 2012), and that’s a gosh-darn-it-good sale. I think it’s safe to say that the best sales take place two times a year: Right before school starts (August/September) and right before Christmas (December). And over the winter break, the latter was confirmed. Here is what I managed to snag for myself –after all, we all deserve a few Christmas gifts for ourselves too, right?

  1. H&M dress- $20 from $40
  2. H&M dress- $15 from $40
  3. H&M dress- $15 from $40

I figure all three dresses are work appropriate, and can be dressed down too. The one dress I am still hesitant about is the long-sleeved grandma looking dress…you know which one I’m referring to. It’s not something I would normally purchase, but my mentality is that I am entering a more mature stage of life and therefore my attire should reflect upon that…still, why do I feel like that dress is not really age-appropriate for me? :\ Anyway, at $15, I think it was definitely worth the purchase.

The boots I’m wearing in the photos are my new Spring oxford ankle booties, also purchased in December, and were a steal at $23 from its original price of $50. I had to wait for them to arrive from Calgary because the store didn’t have my size, but damn was it worth the wait! PS. I also have another pair of Spring wedges coming in from Calgary. Can’t wait! Hope you all managed to take advantage of some of the great sales over the holiday. Now… time to cut back on the spending  (I’m sure that one is somewhere on everyone’s resolutions list for the New Year :p)!

  1. Wow! What great finds! I actually like the long sleeve dress…maybe because I’m old. Kinda classy & elegant.

  2. Haha. Well I didn’t end up returning the long-sleeved dress, so that must mean I do like it!! You’re right, it is very classy and elegant, I’m sure I can match it with many pieces in my wardrobe :) Thanks for reading Jeannie!
